More Awesome More Taxonomies
Recently I was challenged with finding out why custom taxonomies created by the More Taxonomies plugin ( a great plugin I must say ) were not appearing in the built-in wordpress navigation menus ( appearance > menu ). After looking into this I realized that they had failed to include the “show_in_nav_menus” setting which causes the taxonomy to become a “no show” :( .
Thankfully the folks at More Taxonomies et al created a pretty nifty framework which makes it easy to add functionality to their plugin with out it being a hack fest. I have added this setting under the advanced section of the create/edit taxonomy section. The new setting is titled as is should be “Show In Nav Menus” which if checked will allow the taxonomy to show up as a menu item.
The "Show in Nav Menus" setting is just below the current "Show UI" setting under the advanced menu.
You can download the improved version of the plugin here ( download more-taxonomies.zip ) , (until this makes it into the release).
Let me know if you have any questions or suggestions.
